The Sioux were hunters and gatherers. They hunted buffalo and deer. also gathered mostly corn, melon, and other fruits. The Sioux cooked the meat over a fire and they drank soup. They also ate vegetables and fruit such as: potato, wild fruits, berries, and wild turnips. Their main source of food was buffalo. They also grew crops and the three sisters were the most important crops which was maize, beans and squash.
