The Sioux Indians lived in what it is now South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming, Minnesota, and Montana. The Sioux traveled to many states, but they wouldn't stay for that long in the state or country because they followed the buffalo . The Sioux originated around the area of Lake Superior and Lake Michigan, but with the arrival of the horse their population exploded and they expanded West through Minnesota and into the plains.
