Most of the Sioux had to move often so they built temporary houses (right). Others stayed behind to work the land (left). The ones that stayed behind had bigger houses because they stayed in that area. The ones that moved frequently had smaller houses for mobility. The Sioux had many shelters because of their high mobility rate.
